A call from our people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 3, 2014, everything changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was taken. My sisters were taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children disappeared. Fathers were killed. Mothers buried their grief in silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What happened to the Yazidis was not just genocide\u2014it was a shattering of time, family, and trust. And 11 years later, we are still gathering the pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Today, we remember the 1,300+ Yazidis killed in the first days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We remember the 6,000+ abducted\u2014most of them women and children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We mourn the 2,500+ who are still missing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We bury our dead one mass grave at a time\u2014only 68 out of 93 opened.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We honor 3,598 survivors who broke the chains and made it home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And we carry the pain of over 150,000 still displaced, stuck in tents 11 summers later.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not just a memory. This is our reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Survivors are not statistics. We are human beings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are mothers trying to raise children in tents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are daughters who returned after years in captivity, now teaching others to know their rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are sons still searching for our sisters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are survivors building what Da\u2019esh tried to erase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet\u2014we are still waiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the truth about the missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a return to Sinjar that is real, safe, and dignified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What we demand is not charity\u2014it is dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Yazidi Survivors Law gave us hope. But it is not enough to pass a law\u2014we need to feel it in our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thousands are still left out because they don\u2019t have papers or were not believed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even those approved are struggling with underfunded healthcare, no jobs, and no home to return to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We ask: Is survival enough?
