As we commemorate the sixth anniversary of the Yazidi Genocide (August 3rd, 2014 in Sinjar), the Iraqi President, Mr. Barham Salih, called with Farida Khalaf. The president of Farida Global Organization, an activist and Yazidi survivor from ISIS enslavement.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the call yesterday, his Excellency expressed his solidarity and his compassion for the survivors from ISIS captivity and for all Yazidis. Especially, during this sixth anniversary, as the Yazidis are going through a difficult day today on the 3rd of August. His Excellency also asked about Yazidis situation in general and Sinjar during the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Farida expressed her gratitude to the president for his support and compassion towards the Yazidis. She also stressed to his Excellency that there are still many unmet needs, whether for those living in the IDP camps or those who have recently returned to their areas of origin in Sinjar. Farida asked for more support so that displaced Yazidis can return voluntary and dignified to their areas. This can be done by reconstruction of buildings and restoration of basic services in Sinjar, as the Sinjar region still lacks the most basic necessities of life and is still not safe and secure.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
