Hearing in the German Bundestag

Eight years after the genocide, 2700 Yazidis remain missing. On the occasion of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid Committee hearing in the German Bundestag, on June 20, 2022 Farida Global Organization team, in collaboration with Hhawar.help presented #TheWomenWhoBeatISIS exhibition together with 2700 white flowers in front of the German Parliament to draw attention to those still missing, as well as those who have survived.

The exhibition, ‘The Women who Beat ISIS’ originally created by Farida Global Organization, shows portraits of women who have endured and survived the brutal violence of the terrorist group’s genocidal campaign against them in August 2014.

Since 2014, not much progress has been made. Sinjar remains destroyed, survivors are left without or only little psychological support, and many families still don’t know what happened to their relatives.

We would like to express our gratitude to the genocide survivors who attended the exhibition , and to all the photographers and artists who have contributed to the project.

On behalf of Farida Global and Hawar Help, we would like to thank all the MPs who supported the special hearing, as well as all the experts.

The idea for the exhibition was conceived by our Executive Director, Saeed Sulaiman and designed by our Creative Director, Adrian Filho and co-lead by Miriam Weller. With financial support from City Stuttgart and ICMP.
