President of Farida Global Organization, Mrs. Farida Khalaf, addressed the United Nations Security Council in today’s briefing on “Threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts”, focusing on the Seventeenth report of the Secretary-General regarding the threat posed by ISIL (Da’esh) to global peace.

Mrs. Khalaf highlighted the distressing use of sexual violence as a tactic by ISIS/Al-Qaida and its far-reaching consequences. She earnestly appealed to the Security Council members for increased support in holding the perpetrators of these abhorrent acts and genocides accountable through the established United Nations mechanisms.

Additionally, Mrs. Khalaf shed light on the ongoing Yazidi genocide, urging the Security Council to consider the establishment of a local or international tribunal to ensure accountability for ISIS members.

In her address, she drew attention to the plight of over 2700 missing Yazidis, underscoring the need for concerted efforts to address their situation. Furthermore, she urged the Security Council to initiate an international fund for the reconstruction of the Sinjar area.
